Spit sputter and die under acceleration
Truck: Stock 2005 3/4 ton with 129,xxx miles
I took the truck on a 500 mile road trip over the weekend without a single ounce of trouble or odditities of any kind. Temps got down around 10*F or lower last night so I cycled the key twice this morning and although a little sluggish it fired right up. Let it warm up a little for about 15 mins or so, jumped in to go to work and it stalled completely out. Restarted it put in drive same thing happened again. It starts and idles perfectly fine but spits, sputters, shakes and will die if you try to accelerate in drive or rev it up in park. I work out of state and won't be home till Thursday night, I was hoping to get some professional opinions on where I should start my troubleshooting so I'm not wasting time or money. I had my GF check the codes on the dash and all that read was P2509 and P0483. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. |
those code deal with the clutch fan on the truck( i google it)
does your clutch fan work? try unplug it and see if it works also you may have a dirty fuel filter too when the last time you changed that |
I looked the codes up too before I posted yesterday and assumed neither one had to do with my current issue. The fuel filter and possible gelling will be the first thing I access when I get home this week.
