Billet fly wheel or stock?
Ok guys I've broke 2 stock fly wheels on my pretty much stock 06 5.9 cummins, I run a 5 inch turbo back and a chip for hauling that's it, it's a work truck and hauls daily , I'm considering a BD diesel billet fly wheel but I e read mixed reviews , any one have any experience with them? I'm worried I may cause a new weak point such as a input shaft?

Of course any billet will be better than stock! But you have to think of your driving style too! A billet input is a good investment!

Assuming this is an auto truck, the flex plate is the fuse to keep from tearing up anymore equipment. A billet cover TC will probably solve the breakage problem unless you are just way over loaded, or, thrashing it. Fix the flex plate and the strain goes to the input shaft.
Billet solid flex plate you do not want, no give and flex. That will cause problems with a street driven truck. A thicker flex plate is lot less expensive and just as effective eon a working truck. PATC has 4 mil plates that will do the job quite well coupled with a billet cover TC. |
