Fuel Leak above tank

Drove to work a few days ago and had a whiff of that delicious diesel smell. Looked underneath and that $2.96 a gallon juice was everywhere. Had no performance issues so figured it's on the return line somewhere, just to be sure, started the truck and could hear liquid hitting the pavement. Quickly grabbed my phone and blindly shot a bunch of pictures and here's what I found. Anyone ever seen this connection fail before?

Your gonna have to drop the tank to fix it! Either it disconnected or an O-ring failed or worse case the inlet line broke! Did you try to push it back on? Nice picture what phone?

@ the photo: I know right? Samsung Note 4 love it.

So I'm in Houston so currently dealing with this tropical storm or depression or whatever it is, but i ran out in the rain, pushed and pulled on it to see if it was disconnected earlier and started the truck. Not leaking anymore, so hoping it just popped loose, but as soon as it's not raining and i actually have a day off I'm gunna take a better look at it. In the mean time just gunna keep looking under the truck everytime I start the truck and before I turn it off. Used a quarter tank to get home from work the night it happened, really not looking forward to doing that again. That's like a quarter mile per gallon.

However seeing as it stopped leaking after playing with it means that it was either slightly disconnected or the o-ring failed which is super cheap fix so happy about that.

I had it happen to mine its a relatively easy fix if u have a buddy have him help you pull the bed off which is much easier than dropping the tank. mine broke where the return line connects to the sending unit. I just replaced the sending unit and i was on my way
