truck cranks hard, will not start

i have a 2006 3500 quad cab srw, no mods, edge insight digital gauges. its been relatively cold here for about two weeks, in the negatives during nights and teens during the days. i live close to work so i walk and my truck only gets ran on the weekends, that being said the last day i ran my track was this past sunday. i tried starting it today and it cranked really hard but wouldn't start. my dash, particularly my tach and spedo went nuts. waited about 15 minutes and tried again but the truck did the same thing. i had it plugged in for about 2 hours before trying to start it. it has about 3/4 tank of diesel with howes diesel treat so gelling shouldn't be the issue. attached is a video of my second start up attempt. my truck threw three codes (p2509, p0633, p1755). did a little search on the codes and saw it could be a battery issue. i will be getting my batteries tested this weekend. just wondering whats up with the instrument cluster acting that way and if anyone else had an issue like this.

That's what happens when you have bad battery and or connection! Park it till spring or charge, replace the batteries! Clean all the terminals too!

I second the Battery connection- I hooked up a led light bar on my rig a couple weeks ago- when I was driving it shut off on me (first thought was fuel pump) after a tow home and some research cleaning the corrosion off of the terminals and retightening runs like a champ- make sure connections are good and tight!

Thanks for the replies. I had the batteries tested and one was bad. Got two new batteries (napa legends 850cca). Cleaned the terminals and recounted everything real tight. Truck started right up but now my check gauges light is on and the voltmeter is reading low, the edge gives me a volt reading of 10.8-11. It's also still throwing codes p2509, p2503, p0633, and p1755. Truck ran fine and didn't seem to have any power loss but never gained any voltage. I'm guessing my alternator is junk?? I don't have a lot of mechanical knowledge but I can figure a few things out. Also had a sulfur smell in the truck and my heated seats didn't seem to be working. Any suggestions on things to check besides the alternator? Thanks for all the help! I should note I cleared all codes before start up today and these were ones that came back.

Try cleaning the connector(s) to the alt. In fact try cleaning all connectors in the engine bay, as well as all ground connections first before you get an alt. Could just be a bad connection. The alternators for these rigs can be pricey.

I would clean all my ground wires.

You should have a Bosch alternator in your truck- these units RARELY will fail. Check connections at both the alternator and battery!
