Talking The More I Tow.....

the more I like this new 06 compared to my 02. My 02 was a 400hp/900fttq+ truck, but this 06 just seems to drag things around more effortless then my 02 did! I dragged a 2000 VW Jetta back from Vegas friday night and there is Loooonnggg pull leaving vegas up 15 south as some of you may know. I had the cruise set @ 65+ and she just purred right up the grade in 6th gear with plenty more to go. It about 90 out, a/c running and the temp stayed right in the middle. This guy came flying past me in 7.3 P-stroke 1 ton flatbed @ the bottom of the grade, as you get towards the middle of the grade, the steepest spot there is a 45 deg turn on the hill. By the time we hit that spot I was right on his tail almost pushing him up the grade! He got over and I went right around @ 70! He finally got enough poop to get back around me towards the top of the grade were it started to flatten out!

This truck is an awesome towing machine! (And I get unbelievably good fuel mileage!)

Every time I hook my boat up I am more and more impressed with my truck. Tows the boat like its not even there.

what gears were in the 02? gearing does a lot for towing too as your new one has 3.73's which is the tallest gear they put in them now while in 02 you could get 354's just my thoughts

I drive my dads 04 around and can feel the difference in gearing when towing up hills but now that my tranny is right it seems a lot better. I like the mileage i get better though. I get 17.5 up and down the hill where we live and he gets 15.5
