04 cummins suspension problems

Hey all, got a couple of questions for you cummins folks out there. My 04 2500 is sitting on 35's right now with about 5'' of lift. Front is a triple shock setup, and dual in the rear. I'm in the process of building a DD/trail/back road exploration rig. It only see's a 20ft car trailer maybe once a year. Problem is when I'm hitting the dirt roads to even get to the trails, The rear shocks almost feel as if they are overextending?? I know the cummins motor is heavy as hell, but do I really need the triple/double setup? Seems a bit much to me. I like the truck at the height it sits now but would be willing to go a little lower with bigger tires (maybe 37's) is there any suspensions systems that will give me the best bang for my buck out there, or am I looking at a custom setup? Any help is much appreciated!!

assuming you have a 5" lift, its probably a short arm? I would take a gander at the rough country 5" long arm kit, better articulation for your back road adventures and a much nicer ride on the road! hell if the moneys there maybe even a pure performance steering system! as for the shock question i have no clue, triple double seems excessive to me but what do i know, just a dumb trucker! :w2:
