Front Driveshaft U-Joints?
Good morning!
Having some trouble figuring out which u-joints i need for my double cardan joint on the front driveshaft. I have the spicer 5-795x picked out for the diff end, but cannot figure out which I need for the double cardan. Apparently there are two different sizes? Can someone please shed some light on this for me? I have been google searching etc for a couple hours and my head is spinning with part numbers. BTW 2004 Ram 3500 SRW H.O. CTD 4x4 Auto I am rebuilding sloppy front end, so far have the following in my cart Dynatrac BJs Spicer 5006813 for axle shafts SKF wheel hubs (oe manufacturer I'm told) Yukon Pinion seal & nut CV ball kit for front driveshaft Spicer 5-795x Also OTC 8031 bj press and already have the T-link steering update sitting in the garage with new stabilizer, pitman arm, and nuts. Anything I am forgetting before I order parts? TIA |
Hi, First post here.
The Cardan joints on your front shaft are 2-4800 (Neapco), 5-213X (Spicer greaseable) or 5-790X (Spicer no maintenance) 1330 u-joints. Edit-- I just saw where even Neapco says there are two different u-joints used on that year. The numbers above are for the 1.063" cap, the larger joint is below. 1350 series with the 1.188 cap are 2-0052 (Neapco), 5-178X (Spicer greaseable), 5-799X (Spicer no maintenance). |
