Shifting problems
I have a 03 dodge 2500 with auto transmission. When decelerating like while in traffic the gas pedal gets a hard spot in it and when truck reaches around 35 mph it downshifts hard. When hard spot is not there the truck shifts perfectly and does not do this. Anybody ever had any similar problems like this or know what could be causing this?

A sticky or stiff spot in the accelerator is usually the TV valve wearing a groove in the barrel and hanging up. Sonnax has a repair kit for that.

How big of a job is that kit to put in?
|
About like a shift kit, you have to work on the VB on the bench.
|
Would that require just dropping the transmission pan? I'm not familiar with auto transmissions at all. Local mechanic shops have no clue about it and I'm hoping not to have to drop the whole tranny and spend big money
|
No, it requries pulling the VB. Don't have to drop the transmission to do the VB but it is a bit more than just dropping the pan.

Ok thanks I'm gonna call some transmission shops tmrw and see how much it's gonna cost me
