15 but it's worth what you want to pay for it! If you have a certain amount you don't want to go over then just keep shopping around try ebay lots of trucks on there! If your set on this one at 180k find out what parts he's replaced! Injectors, lift pump cp3
clutch etc etc..... If none than expect to sink another 5k into parts as they fail!

Personally, I wouldn't touch it for any more than about $12k, and it would have to be a fully loaded creme puff at that. Its a 3rd gen 5.9L...and a ten year old model. If that's the truck you're looking at, go to an auto auction...any truck with that kind of miles, that's traded into a reputable dealer, will be sent to auction.

At 180k, there are a lot of parts that could start to go and cost $$$$$...injectors, clutch are the first that come to mind. Let alone if its a NV5600 that has very little support these days...if there is anything wrong with it, you're looking at serious money. Then add to the fact that the PO could have easily ran a programmer and removed it...more problems for you.

That last statement is the reason I would NEVER buy a used diesel in any brand...too many guys dump a programmer on one, run the balls off it, then remove the programmer and pawn it off as "completely stock". There are loads of threads on this forum with that very scenario.

You can't even hardly find 2nd Gen trucks for 12k. Much less a CR.

I see 2nd gen 2500 4x4s all the time for under $5000...I don't know where you're looking? I almost bought a 99, 3500, 4x4 SLT Laramie (loaded) with 160k miles a few years back, and the guy was only asking $10k...now I'm glad I passed on it. I see old beat up 1st gens going for $2500...

While it might be a Cummins, the rest of the truck is still aging; and Dodges don't age well. I don't care whether it has a Cummins or not, its the rest of the truck that you have to look at...around these parts, the high mileage and dollar-per-gallon more for fuel kills their value.
