03 hard starts
just bought a 03 and new it needed a lift pump so changed it out with one from napa. started good for a day and then I changed out the fuel filter and went to hard starts. sometimes it really bad and sometimes it fires right off. took it to the shop and it started fine then today it did it again after class. any ideas would help.

Losing prime check for leaks or fuel is back draining to the tank depending on the position of the impeller in the napa pump. You should get a real pump like an airdog or fass.

Fuel filter o ring? You could take some air and pressurize the tank and watch for suction side leaks. This only applies if the pump is block mounted not in the tank. Connector tube are known to get loose nd cause a hard start as well as high injector return rates. Think I would start with the items that had recently been worked on or near.

Well truck started starting really hard today and dieing. Talked to my mechanic and he thinks it's injectors but I really feel like it's a fuel getting to it issue. How do you check that connecting tube?

X2 on the connector tubes, torque them to the right spec. My truck had issues starting one time and 2 New batteries cured it. Old ones had enough juice to fire but took a sec to fire up.
