abs light and brake light on

Abs light and parking brake light on. Code is for rear speed sensor. I replaced the sensor and 6 inches of wire to the rear sensor. Problem first occurred months ago the abs light and code would hardly ever happen after I drove it a mile or two it would go away. This last week I was driving 70mph and the abs light came on and off 3 to 5 times within a mile. After the last time it hadn't worked in a week. When the abs and park brake light are on the speedometer and odometer don't work. Strangely today the light stays off once the rear tires slipp just a little the same lights come on. If I drive it 5 miles or so it will go off and all the functions return working. Any similar problems out there?

Check your ABS sensor conections and wires to the front axle or front hubs. A loose connection would cause this. Also make sure your wiring job on the rear sensor is correct and maybe solder the connections if you had to splice in new wire. The rear sensor also runs the speedo/odo.
The problem sounds like a poor connection from the sensors.

I have also seen problems within the FCM (fuse box) under the hood. The circuit board is prone to corrosion and you loose power to a section of the fuse block. If the problem persists after all the connections are correct, then you may have to directly supply power to the ABS control module fuse by routing a wire from an empty socket that powers up when the ignition is on. Be sure to power up the constant 12v side so as not to bypass the actual fuse.

I didn't have any power down to the rear speed sensor so I looked under the hood and found the signal side of 35 fuse, the spaids were slightly loose. I bent the tabs inward and let the fuse sit in there tighter. This has fixed the problem. Thanks a lot of the advice!
