GAUGE READINGS!?!?

installed new glowshift gauges on my 3rd gen 4x4 3500 6spd man. (4" turbo back, K&N cool air, bd boost fooler, 33's, and leveled) everything looks to reading right where it needs to be but def didnt expect to see max boost excel to almost 42lbs @ wot at the top of every gear before i shift... does this seem high for the minor mods i have done to the truck?

if it matters any the boost gauge is installed with the boost bolt that replaces the intake bolt on the front of the manifold...
egts read at around 500 cruising, and rail pressure is at around 10k at the same time...
knowledge would be greatly appreciated.. thanks and keep trukin!!:c:

What tuner or programmer

No tuner at all! Just the BD boost fooler, straight exhaust, and k&n... I actually did notice after watching videos of other boost gauges that mine doesn't ever actually zero out when I turn my truck off.. Looks like it stays at around 2-3lbs:humm:

Seems high. I would think 30-35 max.

what I was thinking! and expecting... the gauge settles at or around 4lbs with the truck off... was monitoring it on the way home this morning and noticed at 60mph, and roughly 1800 rpms, my egts are around 650-700f, and my rail pressure was steady around 19-20,000lbs.. brand new gauges I just installed two days ago but don't think that the boost should never rest and zero out when truck is killed... am I right on this.. think the gauge is just off?? and if so it would be just 4lbs off so still would come out to be putting out at least 38-39lbs... to high for a basically stock truck!?

I'm not going to go ahead to just assume this but I've heard a lot of bad things about glow shift gauges not being accurate. I run autometer comp series and there dead on, all mechanical, if I remember my buddy had glow shift and they were electric with a sending unit type thing.. I don't remember but I know his was way off when I hooked my quadzilla with pulse monitor up.. We had completly different numbers.

Yea I've read/heard the same thing.. Only it was after I'd made the purchase!.. They look really good and the EGT and rail pressure seem fine but don't understand y the ONE machanical gauge of the three and it doesn't clear pressure when off.. Do boost hold pressure for a period of time bf it completely bleeds off or what? I know what normal stock rail psi should be and EGTs also but is there any opinions other than mine that might shed light..?? Open to anything Bc I'm just learning the cr system myself..:choochoo::c:

It shouldn't hold pressure...

no i wouldnt think so either... now my rail pressure is kinda worrying me... since ive been paying close attention to them it seems my rail pressure stays around 22k unless i give it more throttle then it goes down a good bit untill i level off my foot again... id hook it up to something else to compair but dont know anyone with a programmer that i can just plug into mine and monitor stock reading on the go...:argh:

think i need to disconnect fitting from back of gauge to see if any changes occur..?? and the two elect gauges hold color memory when i turn my truck back into the on position but loose it when i turn it over...wtf... glowswitch!!!!

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

took boost gauge out and it seems it wasnt zeroed in from glowswitch... i calibrated it and now await to see how my psi looks when i get off in the morning... other threads were def right when talked about how fragile these gauges are!!:waiting2:

(im an electrician/instument tech... it wasnt that hard to get around it, but was very impressed to see the setup and complexity of these little gauges!!:clean:)
