48RE Bands ?
 

I know some of yall adjust the bands yourself, but us is really hard or just take it to the dealer and let them do it?

Easy as pie, at least on my 2005 and I wouldn't think a 2006 is any different. BUT you will need a torque wrench that does INCH per pounds instead of the normal Foot per pounds. (got mine from Sears)

One is outside the tranny on the left (drivers) side. The other is inside the pan so best to do both when changing fluid.

Basically, you need to loosen up the lock nut, then loosen (unscrew) the actual bolt to it turns freely. Then tighten down to 72" pounds (on my 2005 at least), then back off the bolt a little, then lock down the lock nut again.

I forget what the setting is right now as I type this. The one on the outside is different then the one on the inside. Something like torque to 72" pounds, then back off screw 2 3/4 turns, Lock down nut making sure it does NOT tighten the screw. I think the manual will say how many turns to loosen, if not, someone will speak up.

But overall, took me about 40 minutes the first time, now about 10 min. each. Easy but somewhat a pain to get to the outside tranny adjuster.
