Clean up the haze.

With my EJWA running on the normal level 3 drive tune it smokes quite a bit before I build boost but I'm getting a pretty heavy haze all the way through the rpm band. I want to clean that up to where I only get some smoke when I take off under load. Right now I'm running the stock charger with stock boost elbow. What will help me clean this up (all current mods are in my sig.) I hope it'll just take an intake and not have to upgrade from the HY35 charger. Any advice would be appreciated.

is it only while your in that mode or does it do it when its returned to stock? When did you last check you fuel filter? and are you one of those guys who smoke alot? the heavy soot is hard on the double pulse injectors..

Just installed a new fass system late last week, I only really drive around on the level 2 and 3 tune it doesn't do it as much in tow tune but I also don't get on it as hard. I am not one to run around blowing smoke all over God's creation. But I haven't turned it back to stock to check.

put it to stock and see what happens, seems like its fueling late if its hazing, or you have a injector acting abnormal.

yea and its a steady haze from when the turbo lights all the way until it shifts

RanchhandTCR 07-01-2013 10:49 PM

Does it clear out then after it shifts?

shovelman 07-01-2013 10:52 PM

Yea it seems to be the worst in 2-3, but once it hits overdrive it smokes heavy then the turbo lights and it cleans up almost all the way

RanchhandTCR 07-01-2013 10:57 PM

Im not overly familiar with edge products, the haze is semi burnt fuel and black it unburnt fuel, do you have a boost gauge? whats it reading all the way to overdrive when it kicks on, its should already be opened up..

it peaks at about 28-30psi, then when it shifts into OD itll drop to about 14psi and smoke heavy til 20psi then clean up

You know now that I think about it...my drop-in air filter hasn't been changed in about 20k miles, lol, might want to change that and see if it cleans up.

Uh, ya that may help her breathe better, but your truck is defueling for some reason and it can be the filter, but it should not drop to 14 psi when it hits OD, it should keep on a truckin along. If you loose your fuel your will loose boost, but you cant boost if it cant breathe.
