ATF burnt...any suggestions?

03' 140k - shifts fine, but fluid is smelling really bad. I know I can drop the pan replace the filter and add new oil. That's the minimum. What else would anyone recommend? Should I leave it at that and get what I can out of this or .....flush the system?....adjust bands?....add external filter ?...or anything else recommended to get what I can out of this tranny?....

Or.....just but a 30 pack go hunting and watch football? :c:

yeah right, Like that would really happen!....

If it's a stock TQ and valve body it's toast. Time for a rebuild you can baby it but start a tranny fund!

Just to update. I dropped my my pan replaced my fluid and welded in a good drain plug. And all is fine 1,000 miles or so on it since then. I wish I had the valve body updates I could've switched while I had it accessable....I'll re-post if anything related comes up. There were some good video's on youtube about switching them out that seemed to help some symtoms, and I've hears some claim increased gas mileage after which is always motivating. Anyone have info on that?...

You should adjust the bands with every service.
