What does it do in park? Can you start it? Can you click thru all the forward gears? Can you start it in N?

it starts in park, i can manual go thru all gears, or i can put it in drive and it will gothru all its self, shifts perfect, just no reverse and nutral its still in drive, it will go in park , but seams to slighty in forward gear. i did check cable , still in bracket, took loose and moved shift lever by hand and it clicked in all positions, didnt try with truck running raining to much. thanks.:argh:

Call Goerend sounds like a valve body issue or the rear band broke.

i talked to a tech at georand he said it sounded like the front clutch pack gaulded together. sent it of to tranmission shop today, i helped the guy load it on the wrecker , even with the engine off, and truck in nuetral rear end would not roll. they said they would use hd raybestos rebuild kit are they any good

dangerous1965 09-18-2012 08:34 AM

Now that is some serious overheating! I would find a shop or guy that is 48re experienced! Raybestos is ok but without the knowledge of extra hp apps building a stock unit is a waste of time! There are alot of upgrades to make it hold up! Do your homework before you throw maoney out the window! TQ, valve body and input shaft are just the mandatory things! Then extra clutch packs, GM soleniod upgrade and on and on!
