Fuel Additive
I have an 07 5.9...
I have always tried to use B5-B15 bio-diesel, but, my source for bio-diesel has dried up. As far as I can tell around town, only Murphy Oil advises that their pumps "may" contain up to 5% bio-diesel, but they don't say for sure. I'm sure this has been asked many times before ... What are the most cost effective fuel additives for my 3rd Gen 5.9 Cummins? Marvel Mystery Oil? Walmart 2-stroke? Diesel Kleen? |
I use POWER SERVICE

Cool, and a $4 rebate if you buy the 80oz bottle of Power Service from Uncle Ted! (Expires 8/31/12)

ive had a bunch of people telling me lately not to you use any type of additive in my 06.... they say that its hard on the injection system... is there any truth to this ? it seems very hard to find a diffinitive answer to this question...... i was using diesel aid, and before that in my 2000 howels...

You better read that can of SeaFoam...it contains things that should not be ran through a CR injection system. This is old, it has some issues; but will give you a good idea on some additives: http://www.johnfjensen.com/Diesel_fu...itive_test.pdf |

there is nothing bad in sea foam for a diesel. What you talking about exactly? :WTF:
Keep thinking that...nothing like dosing your fuel with solvents, which is what SeaFoam is...its your truck, not mine; therefore, I don't care what you run through it. Stanadyne is good, and there is always Amalgamated who custom blends it to your spec...Amsoil and Schaeffer also make respected additives. |
Just an update on that Lucaus Oil, I did a test to see witch is better. Here it is: Lucas Oil (upper cylinder lubricant) vs. Diesel Kleen (gray bottle) - YouTube :pca1::c:

Check out Schaeffer Oil | Synthetic Motor Oils, Engine Oils, Diesel Fuel Additives, Industrial Lubricants Manufacturer for Diesel Treat 2000™ Ultra Low Sulfur Winter Premium and Diesel Treat 2000™ Premium Diesel. They also have motor oils.

Ill give them a look pwinn
