Smarty

I have a 04 dodge 2500 that is currently stock except for cold air intake and straight pipe. I used to have a Bullydog chip in my truck but I sold it a few days ago. I been looking at a smarty S-06 POD. I've heard quite a lot of good things about em. Just wondering what I should expect out of it if I get it? Or anything else you'd recommend instead of a smarty?:tu:

Best programmer for your year right now. I also have a used older non pod version for sale that i took in on trade

Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other.

I'm looking for quite a bit of power but don't wana completely kill my fuel mileage. Does the smarty increase ur fuel mileage when kept turned down like any other tuner?

Most programmers will help in the fuel mileage department however, it really depends on your driving style and the terrain you drive in. So, in short yes it should help fuel mileage.:tu:

Driving it decent you could see 1.5 - 2.0 mpg gain. Power from the so6 ranges from 30-170hp

What do you have for trans upgrades

Trans is all stock

cummin_un_glued 08-01-2012 08:08 PM

with a stock trans auto or stick SW5 is going to be the max you can run

^^ ya I wouldn't go to crazy until you can upgrade your trans.

I have an 04 and have been quite pleased with my Smarty POD. I do have a "built" tranny.

Do not expect a lot of smoke out of the 04.......even on SW # 9.

That's what I was was running was a gt tuner. I was very disappointed in the lack of power it gave me

I love my Smarty. However, to be fair, my friend has an 03 SO with a Bully Dog Triple Dog and it runs like a scalded ape.

My dads buddy has 1 of the older bullydogs, before they went to the monitor, and on extreme it'll give u all the power you can handle

I'd say his is an 06 or 07 model. He also has a FASS ad a 5" exhaust.

Are the smartys hard to install? I read somewhere that after you break the shrink wrap you can't send it back and no dealer around here sells em

It is somewhat complicated to install new software on them. But once you figure the software install it is very simple to put on the truck. All you do is plug it in to the OBDII and follow some on screen steps and with in a few minutes the truck is programmed.
