Lifting off the box?

How much of a pain is it to lift the box off of a SB? I want to get to my fuel sending unit in the tank (float) when i put my airdog in i didnt align the sending unit so when i fill my tank full it only reads just over 3/4.. I dont wanna drop the tank.

Easy as hell, that's the only way I do AD installs. I have a forklift to use but I've taken long boxes off with a couple friends no problems

I pulled the bed on the goblin by myself with an engine hoist. Wasn't to bad that way. Being a short bed u and three or four buddy's can lift it off with ease

I swapped my 8' box by myself with my cherry picker. :c:

Yep, it's very easy. Easier than dropping the fuel tank, IMO.

nice, maybe like 4 bolts and lift?

Dodgemanstan 07-29-2012 06:12 PM

I think there is 6 bolts....

6 bolts, fuel fill hose screws (3, I think), wire harness for the tail lights, and I think that's it.

tiremann9669 07-29-2012 06:47 PM

You gotta take out the piece that goes to the spare tire carrier too if thats in there. :c:

On a long bed it's 8 bed bolts. 6 bolts on short bed.
