Default lift pump supply line leak?

While accelerating under 1/2 throttle or more the fuel pressure will sometimes drop from 12 psi to 8 or lower, I let off of the accelerator pedal and the fuel pressure comes back to 12. I've replaced the fuel filter within the last couple of thousand miles and it does not do it consistently. It acts like there is a leak in the supply line to the lift pump that lets air in so it loses prime. I've got an Airtek fuel pump that was put on 2-3 years ago.

Any suggestions/thoughts? Are there o-rings that should be replaced? I don't have any fuel leaks.

Looking at other posts, it sounds like a draw straw problem. The tank is less than 1/2 when I see the problem.
