Ok guys a guy wants to trade me a 99 ext cab short bed, with 193000, it runs good, has a little slow in steering but is bearable.its leather 4wd, and had a new injection pump and aftermarket lift pump. Here's the bad the body has quite a few dents mainly on bed and left rear door. And he had the cab corners fixed by a friend who basically slapped bondo on it and didn't sand it or anything ad then spray canned it. Also the rear doors don't open from the inside the air don't work, front seats have rips, do you think it'd be worth it to trade? I was thinking may've fix the crap body work myself and rhino line the lower body where rust is, or see what it'd cost to get fixed professionally? Hers some pics Attachment 24759

If you loom close you can see the dents

looks and sounds like a clam. most likely has a #53 block, and a weak trans, when those go, were talking huge money to be fixed. unless he's throwing in some money for your current truck id stay away.

It doesn't have the 53 block.but that's what I figured

The 53 block is not a huge deal breaker.. There are thousands and thousands of these out there with no issues.. Mine is still running strong with 200k miles and making 601 rwhp for the past 2 years..

The door issue will be the door cables.. Easy to fix as you can get them from ebay. Body parts are all the same as a 1500 so getting second gen body parts is easy.. Allot are in junk yards.

You will some work to do on the hood also with those goofy hood scoops...lol... Just remeber if you do not need a diesel for towing why get one unless you just have money to throw at something.. My truck is just a part time toy...

I've had a powerstroke, I don't nessecarily need one every day but I do at least a few times a month to haul stuff. I figure if anything Ill get the bottom half rhino lined and take care f that. And maybe add.fender.flares the rust is really minimum I mean there'd none on rockers or doors

the hood vents are just stick on no big deal to get rid of them. whats your ford worth? what kind of shape is the front end in? probably needs ball joints etc. what trans? really it's more what your looking for than what others think.
