Default tranny problem

yesterday was coming home all was fine then turned the corner went to take off and she didnt down shift. it stayed stuck in third. i could shift it down manually and would shift no problem but when ever i slowed and take off again it would stay stuck in third. doesnt matter if overdrive is on or off. does the same thing. any ideas??...

hoping for no shavings globalwarmingcontributor cause....
i Did some more reading and talked to a guy. what i read and what he said it could be a pressure solenoid. Sense i had to cut into my tranny rebuild fund, gonna start there. anyone else had the solenoid problem.

you may be right, the governor pressure solenoid on the valve body? is that what hes talking about? if so, you can get those pretty cheap bud.. like 50-60 bucks. plus whatever the shop would charge to replace it..unless u wanna do it.. it shouldnt be too hard.

so your trans just went into limp mode. mine did it twice on me. first time my buddy pulled my trans fuse and 2nd time it was a 3rd-4th shift solenoid. Find somone with a quality scanner and look it up. itl have a code

pressure solenoids and and shift solenoids tend to be problems so a good chance its just one of them
