Limp Mode, Help Help !!

Hey Everyone
I could really use some help. I just purchased a 2000 dually 4x4 auto , with plans of building a great work truck. I have had the tranny rebuilt for heavy pulling and an airdog 150 installed so far, I have future mods planned for this truck but my plans came to hualt due to a limp mode issue that I cant seem to get resolved .
The dang thing goes in limp mode randomaly then resets itself overnight .
It only shows a P1693 and a P0753, shifter solenoid ( my mechanic is telling me that the 0753 code is showing besause i have been driving in limp mode is this correct ? ) Also the shifter solenoide has been replaced twice so far with no luck . without having codes and also resetting itself, mechanics are telling me its trial and error . Im up to $3000 on trial and error so far with no luck. Ps sorry for spelling

computer maybe just a guess though

Wow, $3000 of guessing from a shop? I'd pack up and leave, get it on a tow truck, whatever it takes. I can't see it being more then 3 things. 1, solenoid, replaced already. Wiring to the solenoid, very easy to check if you know how to run a mulit-meter. 3, PCM, which could be likely with it needing to sit overnight.

The P0753 code is what is most likely putting you in limp mode. If the computer senses you can't shift properly, it is defaulting you to 3rd.

replaced so far:
TCM
Throttle sencer
govener solenoid
shift solenoid
checked wireing

Tranny man tells me that when the truck goes into limp mode its shutting the 12 volt down to the tranny where then it wont shift ?? I have got so much info on this thing its all turning into a blur .just dont know what to do next, its like driving a laptop around with a virous .

The PCM was my next venture, just afraid of cost, havent even researched it yet .
Any one know avarage cost of PCM replacement< and does that have to be done by a dealer to reprogram . The TCM was that way .

simple check

it is also important to make sure that they checked the speed sensor on the rear axle, it isn't in the transmittion like most vehicles. We had this problem and had the tranny redone twice and it all was because of the bad sensor.

i would check your tranny fluid and see if you have any cracks in your hoses or anything because sometimes when your tranny realizes is low on fluid or if anything is wrong, it will go into limp mode. i would also get your computer re-flashed.

I don't know what your time is worth to you but... If you're in trial and error mode the pick and pull, and this community, are your friends...

At the TDR and a VFR forum I belong to we used to share parts we had in the garage for testing purposes. In other words, if you needed to see if a computer fixed your problem you could borrow the one in my garage to see that it fixed your problem and then send me a replacement down the road. Sorry I can't help you on this one...

Maybe the pick and pull?
