Running 50/50 vegi in my 24v...?

Hello to all....

I am trying to find good info on wether or not I can run a 50/50 Diesel Vegi blend in my 99 24v. or not.....

I have several long trips planned this summer...And I have a waste oil filtering system setting up right now....It is a passive gravity fed filtering set up thru 3 tanks...Dirty waste oil at the top, filtered 2 times to bottom tank where it is clean enough to cut 50/50 with straight Diesel.... I and others have been running it in our 90-93 12 valve trucks with no issues...Run a Heated tank in the bed. Fire on straight , then switch over when truck is at operating temp. I am hoping I can do the same with the 24v....?

Doing this set up in my 93 You take 30 gals diesel and cut it 50/50 and presto you have 60 gals to burn. So fuel runs 2.20 to 2.30 a gal....instead of 4.30
And on long Hwy trips its nice, cause you can go to and from and not think about filling up anywhere in between.....:)

Any and All info is Greatly appreciated....

Thanks, John in Oregon

I am not familiar with Vegi blend, but it would be interesting to hear how it works.

Check out the alternative fuels/additives subforum if you haven't already. IMO, a two tank system with the veggie oil in a heated tank SHOULD work fine in a 24valve, but results may vary. Good luck:c:
