Spare Tire Size?
I've got a 2001 cummins and I am getting ready to purchase a new set of tires. Wondering what is the largest size that will fit under the truck in the spare tire cavity.
|
with my hitch receiver on the truck seems like I can only barely carry a stock one.
|
A 285/75R16 will fit if you deflate it a bunch and convince it to get up their. Then you'll need something to inflate the tire if you need it.
|
I carry a 285/75/16 BFG AT under my 2001, inflated 50-60 pounds on the stock spare rim. My 2001 is 4wd, with a 4" aftermarket exhaust. No problems.

Thanks guys!
I've got 285's now and a 245 spare. For 4 wheel drive I desire a matching spare. Leaning towards 265/75-16 BFG TA KO's. Combination of works and play vehicle. Need good traction for hunting and decent longevity for work. |
Goodyear DuraTrac's will give you that, as well as great winter traction.
