O2 Sensor...
what years of 24 valves got one, if any.....my buddy has a 99 and wants to put a A/F ratio meter in it......

there is a company out there that make an air fuel gauge for diesels.... i can't find the link as i can't remember the board it origionally was posted on..... it ain't cheap though.... what you could do if you wanted to experement with it is get a sparkplug non-fouler (to use as the bung) and a one wire O2 sensor off an early model Thunderbird it'll be a Bosch part number 11027 at autozone and should be less than 20 bux. plumb that in the exhaust close to the exhaust housing and use a cheap A/F gauge from the parts store and see if it'll work. the only down side i see is it'll get sooted up real fast if he's "over fueled"

well to work with the Autometer Sport-Comp gauge it has to to be a narrow band O2 sensor.....meaning 0-1 volt.....whoever they bought it from (supposedly Jegs) said it would work on a diesel, me knowing better, i highly questioned that, but they said Jegs said it would, so i called Autometer and they reaffirmed my suspicions, it wouldnt work....NOW...i dont know who got lied to me or them.....im beginning to think i am, cause knowing these two guys, they never tell the whole story...........

well that o2 sensor is a narrow band one.... i built a gauge and used one of those sensors on a friend of mine's car.... i'd say get yer friend to get the sensor above, get the bung, weld that baby in and try it out......
|
i might just tell them it wont work......just cause i dont want to have to walk them through it step by step on the phone......
a big thanks though Ben.... |
10-4 anytime...
