02 dodge gearbox

:argh::argh:ok i replaced my steering box on my 02 dodge diesel with a reman from local parts store . put it on blocked up the front end and turned wheels from lock to lock 40 times with mptor not running took it out and drove it made it about a half mile then steering got tight and brakes didnt want to work brought back jack it up again and blead the air out again i have done this four times now still cant get all the air out of steering pump . i have noticed if i turn the wheels straight then turn them to the right a little bit i get the same air bubbles everytime. i never had a problem before this. starting to think it is the remaned gearbox any help would b much appreiated

Do it with the motor running. That's the proper way to bleed it. Brakes are tied in with the power steering explaining your issue. Do what you've been doing but have the motor running while doing it to get the pump bled. Should fix the problem as long as you don't have any leaks

You may have put alot of air in just from doing it with the engine off. Try redoing it with engine running. It may take a bit but you shoulnt have alot of issues.
