Trans cooler relocation?

I have an aftermarket trans cooler mounted in front of the intercooler on the drivers side. Before this cooler there is a water/trans cooler. I have another mounted on the passenger frame rail w a fan on a tstat switch. I installed this cooler last year because the trans would start getting hot while towing. The cooler in front of the intercooler cracked, so I had to bypass it for now. Driving around town w it bypassed, trans temps run about 160-175. On the freeway, temps drop to around 150-160. Before I bypassed the first cooler it would alway run about 120-130. I'm thinking of mounting the new cooler on the drivers frame w a fan, instead of back in front of the intercooler.

Has anyone done this before? Would work as well as it did in front of the intercooler?

I thinking that by mounting it on the frame would help the intercooler work better, not sure if it's a big enough difference to move the cooler to the frame.

Input welcome.
