Inner housing gasket and seal replacement
on my 02 5.9 3500 dually..it is leaking slowly in the front of the engine.Got a quote for 1200$ to replace..12 hours labor?? Does that sound right to you guys??? Seems awfully steep to me. Any insight is appreciated. They discovered it when replacing my water pump last week. Doc

Eh it does take quite a bit of time. Taking out the radiator and cac, ac condenser if they discharge the ac if not bending out of the way and all the brackets and etc. Pretty time consuming

You need the accessory drive to motor gasket changed right? That requires pulling the cam, injection pump, powersteering, etc

If your up to the task, and have the time, you could do it yourself. It's mostly straight forward, but there are some very critical tasks as well.
