This is correct and also as stated above if any malfunctions occured with the lift pump and if the dealer "fixed" the problem he just hid the problem by moving it to the fuel tanks. These in tank lift pumps are better than the block mounted ones but still fail often. As for the 03-07 they used a common rail design. I'm not quite sure what kind of "stock" lift pump was used in this application.

I guess i need a little lesson here, what exactly does the lift pump do? Is it the pump that goes in the fuel tank? And how much does an airdog or FASS lift pump cost? Im going to be On a limited budget so i only want to get whats absolutely necessary. Im going to straight pipe it with a sawzall and some fabricating. Any chips that you know of that under 3 or $400? Ive heard of doing the boost fooler but idk if that will hurt anything or not.
Death wobble is when you hit a bump going down the road and it feels like your front end is hopping out from under the truck. Track bar, ball joints, tie rods. They all can contribute to the problem. The lift pump pulls fuel from the tank and pushes to the injection pump. A good Airdog or Fass will set you back about $500 bucks but if you dont get one and throw on some "chip", you will buying a $1300 injection pump very soon. Dont try to go fast cheaply on these trucks. You will pay the piper in the end. Add the mods like I listed and that truck will be good til you get tired of her. Search BHAF and add that. Cheap cold air intakt that really works. Straight piping isnt good enough. A stock exhaust is too restrictive. Look at how small it is at the bends. Get a good 4 inch for about $275 bucks from one of the vendors on here. Its worth doing it right the first time.

There have been quite a few discussions on here about the 53 block.

This one covers a lot of causes/misconceptions/details. From what i have read, there are alot of 53 block with high miles and no problems. I have not looked at mine yet to see if it is, don't really want to. Its kind of a crap shoot but so are a couple other parts on our trucks.

Make sure you look for the FASS. Should be mounted on the drivers side frame rail. Find out which Edge Programmer. If its a good one then you will just need to add some guages.

Im still a little confused about the lift pump. Is the lift pump the only fuel pump between the tank and the vp44? I hate to sound like i ddont know anything cuz i do know alot i just want to know whats going on in this 24v. About the guages, idk if theres gauges on it but if there aint is it alright to run at stock on the programmer with no gauges for a while because im using all the money i have to buy the truck. When i get gauges im ggoing to get a pyro, boost, fuel pressure, and what else do i need? Ive never installed a fuel pressure so i might need some guidance with that one.

Yes it is. The only dumb question is the one that doesnt get asked. Its better to know more that you need than not enough and hurt your new truck. Yes its alright to run stock with no gauges. Depending on what tuner is on it, you should be ok running it without gauges on the lower tunes. No problem on the fuel pressure guage. We would be more than happy to help. The FASS should be easy to see. There are 2 "fuel" pumps on a 24v. A VP-44 which is your injection pump and a lift pump. The lift pumps are the achilles heel of the 24v.

Yes the lift pump is the only pump used. It is used to draw fuel out of the tank and push it to the VP. I'd still highly suggest installing a fuel pressure guage. The set up your talking about is what i'm running on my truck pyro, boost, and fuel. To install the fuel pressure gauge is pretty simple its usually just a three wire set up. Your white wire you run to your dimmer switch or light switch. Red wire is an always hot wire when the key is on (spoon into fuse 9 Engine fuse) and black is ground which i grounded mine to the factory ground inside the cab. Other than that just Tee into the line anywhere inbetween the pump and the vp is the best place therefore you know what pressure is actually going to your VP. Also running the programmer on stock would be fine. I'm sure you'd be alright having some fun as long as you didn't run hammer down all the time.
