47re problem. 1,2, &r are fine. Won't drive in D
I've done some searching without much luck on where to look to first. The tranny has about 4k miles on a fresh rebuild with dpc super single, dtt shift kit and billet acumulator piston and servo. It hasn't had any issue until last night. I was in a yard and had to accelerate pretty hard to get unstuck. I noticed it seemed to be sluggish from a stop and reving higher than normal and wasn't shifting at all, so I limped it home as it was within a few miles and tranny temp was staying normal. Tranny fluid is full and looks clean, temp last night was under 190.
This morning I started it, in D it idle surges but will drive fine if I shift to 1 and 2. As soon as I shift into D it seems to buck and idle erratic. It also feels like its loosing power. It does it at all rpms and speeds when shifting from 2 to D. Speedo still works and no error lights on the dash. I'm new with autos and dodges so I just need pointed in the right direction. I check the codes and this is what it came up with. P0743 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Electrical P0602 Control Module Programming Error P0463 Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Input P1693 Turbo Charge Control Circuit Malfunction Thanks. |
Do you have a lockup switch? That would explain P0743
You can up and down shift in 1 and 2 fine? No issues what so ever if you STAY in 1, 2 or R? The trans apply diagram doesnt tip me off to any issue with your clutches or bands. You would have effects in 1, 2 or R if it were one of them. I wonder if there is an issue with your shift kit or TQ Converter? Which servo did you replace out of curiosity? What other mods do you have? |
I meant to come in here yesterday and say the problem was fixed but I got busy needing to ship some things before 5. As I was moving relays around and checking fuses I happened to test drive it one more time and realized it felt like the tc was locking up. I remembered that when I bought the truck it had a tc lockup switch installed but the previous owner said it was disconnected. I never payed attention to the orientation of the switch until yesterday and realized it was in the on position. Needless to say that was the issue. Thanks for the help anyways though.
Is there anyway you can point me towards the trans apply diagram so in the future I do have a real issue I can troubleshoot it better myself? Thanks. |
There are a few good links on this page:
DIY Ram repair notes Just scroll down to the Automatic Trans part. |
If your lockup switch was ON and you COULD come to a complete stop from over 45mph and NOT stall the engine then something may be going bad... Trans slip or TQ converter slip.
Your truck should stall out if you leave on switch and try to stop. |
Pulling the shifter out of "D" cancels the lockup switch unless u have other mods
