Vp44 help
Hey guys had a vp go bad on my 99 ctd so pulled vp off of another truck of mine and now cranks and idles fine but between 1400-2000 rpm it starts cutting out and white smoking once it gets to 2000 she straightens out and this is while in neutral. No codes. Is it possible I have air in lines. I checked keyway and pump came off another 99 any ideas?
Alright guys I changed the fuel filter and lp. As soon as I crank it it revs up ok not great but ok. Sounds like something is whinning either turbo or maybe rotor seizing up on pump? Wouldn't think turbo but I have another and might change tommarow! Any more ideas guys
No gauges here at house' I would think it was lp because I had a similar prob before but only under load. I'm prolly just gonna go ahead And buy new pump and put this temp back on my other dodge. Lol one won't run and the other has rear end out!

Also seems to be out of time just a hair. Maybe keyway is wore? It's not real bad off I just don't want to run it for fear of burning piston or ring if it's out of time
