2wd to 4x4 02 ram 2500

alright i think i found the deal of the century but i dont know how badd it would be, now my truck is a 02 long bed ext. cab the other truck is a 95 long bed ext. cab, my truck is 2wd with a auto 47re and the 95 is a 4x4 with who knows what trans, now heres the deal the truck hit a house and the front horn is bent on drivers side and it has no motor, my truck is in great condition, will my cummins bolt in without ill effects or can i use my frame which is strait and just bolt up the trans transcase rear axle and front?? im just curious because if i can just pretty much bolt it up then its a steal!!! and there is no way i can get the money back on my truck and for the price it would make my truck 4x4 without another payment!! thanks in advance!!! scott

ok well 70 ppl and no answers lol well does anyone know if dodge made the frames the same between 4x4 and 2x4??? how about between 99 and 02

Doing 2x4 to 4x4 is going to require a bunch of fabrication. You'd be better off just working with the 4x4 and swapping the engine in and get the frame aligned if its salvageable. It'd be easier to make the front of Your truck leaf sprung than to do coils. Its alot of work.

will the auto tranny in the 95 work with my engine?? or should i take my 47re too??

Should work if it was a diesel.

looks like the 95 also had a 47re??!! he said the tranny is built some which would be better than my stocker too, i guess i need to hunker down and see if i can use the frame bc id love to have 4x4 here in va

and im guessin if the frame can be used i can basically set my body and motor in and have a good truck

Get to work :bat:

Yup much easier to swap parts on that truck if you want a 4x4. Wont be able to use your tranny without some tear down to change the tail end for the tcase btw.
