Not sure if maybe something is up or not but my old 98 24v cclb 4x4 5 speed according to my edges performance tests ran fast times 0-60 and 1/4 mile. My current truck is a 01 ccsb 2wd 6 speed.

The only things I can think of is maybe since this truck has 265-70/16 mud tires and the 98 had 245 all terrains. Clutch isn't slipping, boost is building fast at hitting 30psi like my 98 did. The tires definitely aren't spinning or chirping like my 98 did. Both have/had 3.55 gears.

Im thinking the tires are the only thing?

Figured the 2wd would be faster on times. Considering the 2wd is lighter

The tires would have made the 4wd, slightly lower geared, not sure about the diffrences between the NV4500, and NV5600 :pca1:

Both the 2wd and 4x4 had/have 3.55s in the rear. All my runs were in 2wd on the 4x4. The bigger tires are on the 2wd running slower. The 4x4 had stock size tires

I would have thought the 2wd would easily pick up half a second or so shifting quick. Unless also the ho injection pump makes a difference. The new truck likes the low end fueling turned highest too where as the old liked high. Same exact chip that came out of the red one just new harness. All runs on level 6

4x4 at 7.9
2x4 at 9.7

And 1/4 mile
4x4 16.7
2x4 16.9

Just kidding... Sort of? The auto trans does shift quick n hard.

Maybe you dont notice the clutch slipping?

As mentioned above the effect tires have on gear ratio can give one a better gear ratio. Therefore better off the line.

Did you change anything major to effect weight? Add a bumpin system, different load ratio tires (heavy tire = heavy rotating mass), do you have a toolbox in one and not other, did you recently start dating and have present during testing an incredibly overweight chick with more chins then a chinese phone book?

They are both manuals. The 98 was a nv4500 and this 01 is a nv5600. I ran it full of fuel, empty bed besides an extension cord and just me. Same in the 98. I didn't think the taller wider tires would clip much off the times but maybe they do. I have alot more rpm range in final gear because id come up on red line at 90 in my 98 and in the 01 I can go past that and still have some room. The clutch was New in the 98 when I bought it And it was supposedly a stock replacement and never slipped. Idkabout this clutch but it seems to hold fine because the rpms don't climb abnormally or shoot up, they increase with speed like they should. Maybe the fact the tires are mud tires doesn't help either. I don't mean to sound like im pro racer but I shift pretty quick. The truck des seem kinda doggy getting to 60 but maybe just rolling resistance

With the tires I think the speedo could be affecting the times on the edge too though?

WOW im an idiot, i missed the BOTH manuals part... f-in moron :argh:

Doesnt the edge have a tire size adjustment? The ADR that i have allows you to make adjustments for tire circumference. Edits MPH and the performance tests accordingly.

You have mud tires on the slower truck? Mud tires are crazy heavy!

Yeah I hadn't messed with it. But yeah the previous owner put on some chunky mudclaws, not the Mickey thompsons either. These things look like the super seamless I had on my old lifted jeep.
