door from 1500

need a new driver side door, and I found one on craigslist. But does anyone have any reason that I might need to know why a door from a 2001, ram 1500 extended cab 2dr won't fit my 3500 std cab? I am supposed to drive about 400 miles round trip tomorrow to get it.

Standard cab has a rounded lower rear corner while an ext cab has a square lower rear corner.

that makes sense for the body lines difference between the two, Thanks, I almost just drove 400 miles round trip for it

Ya I made the mistake of getting a door off of a 95 extended cab then recieved a call from my painter about the rounded bottom. That cost me about $300 cause he had already prepped the door and painted the inside not to mention I was going to every wrecker I could think of trying to find a new door. I went to five places that said they had the door I needed but only one had the square edge bottom he was the only guy that knew there was a difference because he had a truck like mine:argh:

If you look on craigslist you can probably find something.

well apparently, the base cab 2dr extended cab has the same door as the std cab, so I did find the right one. I just made a phone call so the guy could check that corner for me before I got in the truck. Still not an easy find, but I paid about half what the area wreckers all wanted. Now I just need to pick up a pair of hinges, and we will be golden:jump:
