p1682
p1682 I just changed the alternator the other day and then I checked for codes last night and to my surprise I had that code. I did not have the code before replacing the alternator. I cleared it with the Smarty last night and haven't have a chance to rescan since I drove it to work today. Is that normal to throw that code after you install a new alt? I unhooked both batteries when I changed the alt.

p1682, Charging Voltage Too Low. Batteries go low with the old Alternator? |
I had batteries tested at Advance Auto I had then test the alt and my batteries were good they said. I'll check codes again tonight and see.... :argh:
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- not sure if this matters either but my display for my voltage is a little above 14 on my gauge cluster. |
I would just check the code occasionally. It was most likely generated when the alternator was swapped. If it doesn't come back, and the system charges, don't worry about it.
|
Kinda what I was hoping that is was just from swapping it out. I'll be checking it tonight after work.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- well had it again today, it seems as if it only comes on after it sits for a while. I checked it when I got home from work and had the code, along with a vehicle speed sensor code. I cleared them, went and drove and no codes. Seems like they only happen after it sits for hours or goes into high idle. |
