I posted that and saw I had misunderstood your post, treated you like an ass, but I had to leave the house to go to a church dinner meeting. So I had no time to correct it. As soon as I got home which was 5 minutes ago. I got back on my PC to tell you and apologize, but I see you we already offended. I am truly sorry for my commit. I mean that really. I came here for help, not to insult anyone. Doing so is not going to help me.
Thanks

well it just kind of lit my fire it happens when your low on sleep for a 4mo sick baby and a dog with upset stomach that you have to let out every 2 hrs. Every now and then I can't control my fingers. We are just trying to help and when new people come on and then get smart it doesn't always go over well. apology accepted

okay I'm back for round 3.

I did a code check on the truck and received this code.

P 0230

Which from looking at Dodge code chart it says this - Transfer Pump (Lift Pump) Circ Out Of Range.

Does this possibly mean a bad wire, fuse or dead pump?

I don't hear the pump when bumping the key. Only clicks

I'm trying to diagnose this starting with the cheap bucks first.

You need to check the fuel pressure at Wide Open Throttle. You must have 5 psi minimum. If not, replace the lift pump or upgrade it. There is no way around the lift pump issue, unless you dont mind replacing the injector pump at $1000+ a shot.

That being said, if you are going to drive this truck anywhere - you MUST have a fuel pressure guage installed in the cab.

I would agree with DR. Evil, put a pressure gauge on the pump to see what the pressure your are getting.

i don't know if you can swing it(i sure know what it's like to be broke)but i got my first fuel gauge from jegs, none lighted machcnical gauge but it was only about $35 plus s&h.don't waste your $$ on the low fuel pressure warning light.i had a brand new stock cummins lift pump go bad.took out my injection pump, the light never even lit.the others are right though if there's any question at ALL about the lift pump DON'T drive the truck.if the ip goes out it will cost ya at least a grand.i'v been through it tooooo many times.
