5 speed or 6 speed?
what you guys think, I got a good deal on a 5 speed swap kit with 53k original miles, everything is there for 2k , tany, t case drive shafts ect. and im gonna put in SB DD clutch with bigger input and 5 gear fix, but people are telling my that im gonna waste my money and i should just put a 6 speed in it. but i dont tow with my truck and the fact that my buddy thats gonna help me do this said it would be 5 grand for 6 speed swap with a new trany. what do you guys think about the 5 speeds vs 6 speeds, driving around town, highway and towing ect.???

5 speeds are better for daily drivers, and the gears are spread further apart. If you did a lot of towing, I'd say go 6 speed.

I thought the only difference was the extra 1st gear on the 6 speeds? If you get an NV4500, make sure you at least tack weld the 5th gear nut.

i drive bolth. ra williams is correct. 5 speed for drag racing and playing. but 6 speed is manditory for towing big loads you never have problem with not right gear. the 5 speed is much cheaper!
