scanner?
What is the best scanner tool or program for the buck? I need to find one that will work on my cummins and my powerstrokes. I don't want to take out a mortgage for it either.

If you looking for just a basic one. A parts store will have em for like 100 bucks :tu:
|
looking for something more than the key trick, something I can manipulate the abs and such.
|
Any vehicle 1996 has OBD II. There are no key tricks, any scanner will be able to pull the code set in your computer.
|
but what about the CAN codes in the abs system? I have had an abs and brake light on since I bought the truck. the abs is not retrievable with just an obdII scanner
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- not only the abs, but I have a lot of questions about what is going on inside the pcm parameters, such as fueling % and timing. yes I know I have a smarty, but I want to know more... knowledge is power. |
A regular scanner cant read an ABS code. You would need an ABS scanner. Your gonna have to spend some coin to get one that does all of that unfortunately :td:
