electric fan?

Would it be worthwhile to replace the clutch fan with electric?
Has anyone done this to a second gen? I had put one on my 91 d150 with a 318 and it worked well.

There are these as well. More CFM, less money.

do you tow much? if you tow often and some good weight I would not do it.

I don't tow often but I have, and I will in the future. If I would run the risk of overheating I wont do it.

getting the fan clutch hub off is a P.I.T.A I finally had to break down & buy a fancy $95.00 tool. how many shadetree mechanics have a 36mm wrench on hand :humm:

Sluggo I do. :) My first choice is me repairing a vintage VW so a 36mm is a must have.

BTW I used to work for Newmont in Elko then GBC. I miss Lamoille and Spring Creek. :)

it may supposedly have a rating better than the stock fan, but when you read up on them a mechanical fan just cannot be beat. I was going to go that way and talked to people who have done it and most went back to stock fan.
