Quick shifting auto

My truck shifts good under lets say half throttle, but light on the go pedal and the 2-3 shift is almost instantly after the 1-2. Doesn't hold second gear for maybe a couple hundred rpm. Is this normal? TV cable out of adjustment? Bands? Tranny feels tight and converter will kill engine when put into gear dead cold. Use the block heater and no problems killing it. Thanks in advance.

It could be TV adjustment. Mine seems to do the same thing after all the upgrades. Do you have to lift off the pedal to get it to shift from 3 to O/D?
A tranny adjustment never hurts.

Nope, don't have to lift off at all to shift. No problems there, just seems like second gear is almost non existant unless your gettin on the go pedal. Maybe this is normal and I'm worrying for no reason.:humm:

Been doing some research and sounds like maybe a governor pressure solenoid problem. Anybody ever done one of these or used the supposed upgraded part? Gonna do a tranny flush and new filter along with band adjustments this weekend.

Yep I have done a couple. This is the kit I use there are others to.

Also might want to adjust the bands also.

Well took it to the local tranny shop, they scanned it and drove it. Turns out the TV cable was stretched all out. They fixed her up for a half hours labor and holy cow what a difference! :jump:
