diffrence in motors

i have the 2002 24 valve and was wondering the diffrence between the H.O. version in the standard trans models vs. the lower output version in the automatics. first off the turbo i believe its the hx3550 vs the hx35? what about cam grind injectors or is it just the injector pump. i think the hp was 215 vs. 240? i have a volant cold air kit, mbrp twin 4" exhaust (no down pipe upgrade yet), edge juice and a cfm intake elbow. this is a daily driver that has to pass emissions (so far 4ppm on the test) im lookin to get more hp and mileage if possible it does have 130k on it so the trans and injector pump are prolly gettin a bit tired. i've owned this since it was new actually it took dodge a month and a half to build it for me. no intention of sellin it

HX35 on Manuals, HY35 on autos. Biggest difference is a 12cm exh housing on the HX, and 9cm on the HY.

Are the HX35's reasonably available compared to going with an aftermarket turbo? Would swapping from HY to HX be worth it compared to an aftermarket turbo?

HO-High pressure low volume 245 hp
SO-High volume low pressure 235 hp HO trucks are going to have better low end then and SO truck. But an SO truck will have more top end the and HO truck. HOs came with a 6speed manual only. SO trucks came in autos and in 5 speeds. |

Seems the going rate for a used HX35 is $300-$350. You will see a reduction in drive pressure due to the larger exh housing. Depending on your fuel situation, 8 or 10 PSI more boost.
