After I get my raptor installed ill be on the market for a turbo. Guess I better get to Sellin sh!+ to come up with 1500 or so. I've done a lot of reading but not sure what I'm gonna need. Just lookin to build a street machine. Don't worry have forgotten about studs:lolleft:

If you've got 1500 to spend on turbo get a nice compound setup, I was looking at ht3b but tranny is #1 for me right now

All compound setups I've seen run at least 3k:yeah:

ive heard that the new 6.7 ltr turbo is compatable with the 24v 98.5-02 models and provides more boost that a twin set runs. the fella that told me bout them said they r capable of producing 50psi at an idle and you can get them for 200ish bucks used...idk if that is true but if it is its a heck of a deal the guy also said you need the dial control for the variable geometric vains the turbo has in it witch he said runs around 600 bucks witch doesn't really make since to me but hey figured id throw that out there maby it will be usefull to ya.
good luck :c:

50psi at idle is really hard to believe.

its not so hard to believe depending on the set up i haven't been around this particular turbo but i am a diesel mec and have seen some off the wall stuff it may or may not hit 50 at idle but to be honest it actually may be able to get close i looked into the vain system and it can shut completely off on all vains and give every bit of pressure to the turbo....witch would be enough to make me scetchy about stomping on it with all vains closed like that. but like i say im not a hundred percent sure of what it can do. i was told this by a guy that has a cummins pulling truck when i was looking for more power for my mud bog truck and i just passed it on

A turbo is not going to make any boost at idle.

Supercharger, yes.

Turbo, no.

There are a few problems with the 6.7L cummins vgt turbos. First one is the run a t3.5 flange so you need to fabricate a turbo flange adaptor, 2 you have to come up with a vgt controller and or a mechanical actuator, 3 is those turbos are so far out of map at 50 psi and they have highly restrictive exhaust housing which lead to drive pressure issues. Dont waste yuor time with one of those turbos IMO. Go for a traditional fixed vane like a phat shaft 62/65/12 for industrial injections. That turbo is a great street single and or top charger for a set of towing twins.
