fass platinum installed

heres what I did took out old stock pickup from tank. lines where rotted capped off where lines came out of old pickup and put back in so got fuel gauge. put on new draw straw installed fass on frame back by the fuel tank unpluged front harness hooked everything up the way its says the only problems were the return lines now it gets crazy was tired and could not figure out where the returns go my buddy whos house i was stuck at came up with this but im thinking since it wont start somethings hooked up wrong draw straw has 1 feed port 1 return port connected feed to bottom of pump with filter facing the right way where it belongs than ran straight up to ip off the front conection of pump now the return side of pump went to filler hose with conector that came with pump and old return on frame went to return side of draw straw now when i went to start after i primed the pump no good i got fuel up to ip started cracking open lines just a little coming out fuel pressure goes to about 12- 15 when bumped and pump kicks on down to 0 when cranking if i just bump to turn on pump builds up to 12-15 but loses the pressure fast please help need truck:argh:

I know nothing about fass... actually I know nothing at all, but my opinion here is you need to check for codes, because if you get 15psi when the pump is running, but go to bleed your lines and have nothing, chances are your vp44 just took a shit.

Same idea here too check for some codes

x3 sounds like your pump just up an quit.

On another note, I too am about to install a FASS Titanium and have one quick question-When you installed your FASS did you drop your tank or take off your bed?

ok here we go yes i dropped the tank {getting good at it} the reason i changed was the lines were rotted on the stock pos pickup bought new fass titanium and mixed up the return lines because didnt have the old pickups on the tank so after much cursing finally figured it out works great steady pressure and runs great but im skeeeeerd of the vp thanks guy hopefully it holds out a while longer:jump:
