I think im going to get with my local shop (addicted diesel) and see about data logging. I just put a new map sensor in not that long ago and when i flash the computer the codes never erase? Ecm is what me and a couple guys are thinking who you get a replacement from if it is bad

Re: 5 codes and 16psi max boost?

The ecm could com from cummins or any auto computer supply shop.
I'm voting that your not able to clear hard or ecm codes with your tool. If you are its a constant fault. Once the data is viewed and or logged for the map sensor (which can be done by any reputable auto shop, not just performance shops) you can make a determination of the issue. Often issues like this are caused by boxes that utilize the map sensor via jumper harnesses. But again, until the data is available, its impossible to diagnose this problem. Don't just go throwing a ecm because it might be it.
Heck, go to any shop and give them 1 hour of shop labor, ask what voltage are for the map sensor according to their scan tool. Then verify the voltages at the sensor

I have the edge comp on 5x5 what should the voltage be at the map

Re: 5 codes and 16psi max boost?

Unhook the edge from the map sensor, or completely disconnect the edge (don't worry about the tap wire) and see if the codes will clear. The sensor supply voltage should be 5v and the signal should indicate 0psi of boost and follow with the increase of boost. Can't remember exact voltages but try the edge first and I'll look the voltages up if you need them. The voltages are more important as in the sensor indicates psi of boost. In other words if 3.78 volts = 20 psi to the computer, yet the sensor shows 4.89 volts at 20 psi the truck will defuel because the computer sees a higher boost number than is actually present.
Hope that makes sense

I have unplugged the box mlre than one once to clear it and it won't clear even without the box

1693 is a comman code dnt worry about it

I have also heard that it can be hiding fatal vp codes :argh:

Re: 5 codes and 16psi max boost?

It's a companion code which indicates that a mil request set from ecm. That's the reason you need a decent scan tool.
