head gasket question

im limited on money do i really need to fire ring my head on my 1999 dodge diesel 24v i have a bunch of goodies i currently have a ats exhaust manifold, ats aurora 3000 turbo, ats air intake,bd exhaust break, edge with attitude, snow water/methonal injection,i blew my head gasket head bolts where very loose and stretched planning on installing head studs, hot rod vp44 injection pump and 100hp injectors. Will a stock cummins head gasket with head studs be enought to handle all that without fire rings or o-rings

don't waste your money on a hot rod pump a so vp44 will be just fine. I made all my power on a so pump. I would o-ring the head but not fire ring it. you will be better off o-ringed especially if you add more boost it will hold much better. the o-rings should only be around 300

I get by with studs... you should be ok... what kind of boost do u have???

Re: head gasket question

Genuine cummins gasket and studs will hold up just fine to 50 psi, where you will want to get valve springs, which you Should do since the head is off. Have the head decked since you already blew the gasket once... if you plan on going over 50 psi you should have the head o ringed, and put 80 lbs valve springs for sure. Hth

while it's off it's cheap to do it now then to blow a gasket later.
