well first thing how much hp and torque does it add i have a 1999 cummins 3500 dually. and how do you like the smarty. does it throw good smoke when you want it to.

Well that depends on other add ons you have on your truck. I believe it's 140 hp and 400 TQ on level 9. I have it on mpg mode now as I don't have any gauges and the mpg mode throws a good bit of smoke

i have gauges just have to install them, i also have the airdog 150 its straight piped and has an intake oh ya and its a 5 speed im 17 and im really looking to make my truck a sweet daily driver with plenty of power to beat rice burners and still pull trailers when i need to.

Well the smarty will be great for get up and go. I would suggest a cold air intake and a intake horn. Also bigger injectors but not too big

i have a performance filter just on the stock turbo tube. and would like 60hp injectors be a good match.

Yea 60 would be the right amount any more and you'll need a new turbo

Smarty on a vp is limited to around 65hp, without tapping the pump all you can run is basically ecm fooling for a little more power. If you want power from a box look into edge comp, jwa or quadzilla with iquad. Those tap the pump wire and add some good power. Edge delivers about 120hp and quad is 180 out of the box if I remember right.

Also those boxes have different levels that you can change on the fly while driving.

100% correct, have to tap the pump wire on a vp'd truck.

Be running very warm on that set up unless you keep the quad dialed down to low tunes.

but i heard when you tap into the vp its life gets cut in half basically.

so should i just run the edge comp

the edge comp taps the wire also(at least if you want to have full function of the comp) if you done want to tap the pump the edge ez doesnt. it says it adds 65hp i believe never seen or heard the real numbers you get out of it

OR YOU A BUY A STEALTH COVER AND PUT ON THE PUMP NO TAPING OF WIRES THEN :c:

A steath cover still taps into the vp electronics bud, all it does is makes a better connection for the lead to the pump off the box. Instead of using the wire taps that come with the kit attached to the wire you put an eyelet on the wire and secure it to the cover after making connection with the wire under the screw on the cover....
