any ideas on adding power

I do alot of heavy hauling and i was wondering what are the best ways to get more power and torque but still maintain a dependable truck and safe egts and boost. its an 02 3500 5.9 ho 6 speed stock except edge juice w/attitude

As far as dependability, do you have a fuel pressure gauge? How about a good lift pump (FASS/AirDog)? Those are a couple things to keep you driving, instead of fixing.

Stage 1 or 2 injectors, Air dog lift pump, cold air intake, exhaust

if in were you i would get an exhaust that would help lower egts and i would get the snow performance water meth it lowers egts even more and is an awsome upgrade for pulling

a water meth systems has crossed my mind alot and even thought about about bigger or twin turbos but didn't know how they would effect the performance with hauling. and info on o-ring the head cause i've had alot of poeple tell me it would help the head and gasket last longer and arp studs

fass fuel system, cold air intake, 4" turbo back exhaust swap over to full synthetic oil motor and differentials

justin mccabe 08-12-2011 01:31 PM

it depends on how big the turbo is i think a 62mm turbo would be good for a tow rig but correct me if im wrong

this depends on exhaust housing size and injector size. I towed pretty heavy with mine but it was laggy with the 14cm exhaust housing

justin mccabe 08-12-2011 01:45 PM

so if you run 60 to 100hp injectors with a 12cm housing that seems that a pretty solid set up. but im 17 and i could be wrong

mine was laggy too but i had 3.55 gears... if i had 4.10's it would scream... I've built mine pretty much just for towing.. here's a starter list for you.. i know u want power but u need these first and it will be a respectable tow rig.. lift pump, head studs, intake, intake horn, exhaust(with down pipe) exhaust manifold(3 piece), heavy duty clutch.. love the south bend, mag-hytech pans, synthetic oils, then maybe a turbo, injectors.. give us a price range and we can narrow it down better.... ooooohhhhh and gauges!!!!!:scare2:

justin mccabe 08-12-2011 03:10 PM

i would make gauges first on the list if i were you.

Sb intake and an exhaust. Edge juice w add has gauges, you need a lift pump, airdog100 will work great for you. If you still want more go with some 90 hp injectors. Save for a dd clutch and a turbo, you'll have a very reliable cool running truck with plenty of power on the street

the intake horn is a waste of time on these money is better spent elsewhere

i thought it would be handy for water/meth and or propane down the road with the pre-drilled holes... plus boost gauge... and it looks cool... my list was in no specific order... if he would give us a price limit we could make a lil more specific list..:choochoo:
