You don't have one if you can't see it "53" on the side you are safe.:c: The "53" block is a very very small percentage worldwide.

:dang:nice then i need to figure out why theres oil all over between the oil pan and the damn block!

Front, mid, or rear of the block. Which side?

Vent tube?

the 53 is really easy to see, or the one I looked at was.

You can first retorque the bolts on the oil pan to 21ft/lbs. If it still leaks then replace the oil pan gasket. Crank case vent tube no bottle?

i see some on the seal and stuff oil pan to block near the front i also see some coming from bottom of vent hmmm so i should try retorquin hu

I agree with checking the pan bolts, and the breather tube. Extend it down away from the block. If it still leaks, it may be coming from the vacuum pump to timing cover gasket. They like to leak.

I also have a block that's numbered like yours. After hours of investigation I came to the conclusion that the blocks that are not numbered clearly as 53, 54 so on, instead have a series of numbers, are Mexican blocks. I also hear that the Mexican blocks have LESS "cheaper" metal in them and are extremely strong. Be happy with your find bud!

i have a 2000 and can't find 53 or 54 on block
