Faulty fuel reading
I've got an 02 Dodge with the 1/4 tank faulty reading. (empty)
So is it the sending unit? The gauge? What can I do to fix it? Thanks |
Faulty fuel reading

Faulty fuel reading
And it's a 2001

Most likely the sending unit. To my knowledge, they are not repairable.
To replace it, I suggest lifting the bed off, it is much easier then dropping the tank. Depending on the modifications to your truck, future modifications, and lift pump type, I suggest this as a replacement: Modified liberty fuel module |
Does it have a drawstraw from vulcan performance in it? I know with some of them you can still have 1/4 tank but not getting any fuel to engine
|
That one does, its ready to go.
"We take a brand new Liberty module unit, modify it and install our 1/2" DrawStraw™ system. " If mine ever fails, it's what I will get.:tu: |
Faulty fuel reading
I got to save some money before I can do this might as well wait and just get this and the airdog at the same time

The same thing recently happened to mine. My first thought was the lift pump went (Truck died at 65mph the day after i bought it). Had an Airdog 100 installed (no draw straw) Died again at 1/4 tank. Put 7-8 gallons in it, purged lines, went to get fuel, it still took 25 gallons. it was completely empty at 1/4 tank on gauge. I plan on ordering The Vulcan module ASAP. Until then i will be filling up at half a tank.
BTW- Thanks for your help on that RAW |
